KEY INSIGHTS

  • Ripple and Robinhood will enhance the adoption of RLUSD in institutional settlement and digital assets.
  • Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury to manage cash flow liquidity payments and financial risks.
  • Ripple Prime supports Bitstamp lending and spot trading while perpetual futures support is planned for later in 2026.

Ripple and Robinhood announced a strategic partnership on October 27, 2026, connecting stablecoin settlement, corporate treasury management and institutional trading through Ripple’s financial services infrastructure.

The agreement will expand the role of Ripple USD (RLUSD) across Robinhood’s digital asset ecosystem while bringing Ripple Treasury into Robinhood’s financial operations and extending existing institutional services through Ripple Prime.

The arrangement covers several business functions rather than a single stablecoin listing. RLUSD is already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, while its launch in the Robinhood app is expected later this year. Robinhood also plans to use the stablecoin on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for institutional settlement.

The companies will integrate Ripple’s treasury software into Robinhood’s operations and continue working together on financing and market access through Ripple Prime. These services connect customer-facing digital asset products with internal financial management and institutional trading.

Ripple and Robinhood Expand RLUSD Settlement

RLUSD is central to the partnership’s stablecoin component. Ripple and Robinhood intend to make the dollar-pegged token a key part of Robinhood’s digital asset ecosystem, serving both retail and institutional users.

The stablecoin is live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood. However, availability through those platforms should be distinguished from its planned introduction in the Robinhood app, which the companies expect later in 2026.

For institutional transactions, Robinhood will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger to support settlement. This gives the stablecoin a role in transactions involving Bitstamp by Robinhood’s institutional business, extending its use beyond the consumer-facing trading environment.

According to Monica Long, Ripple’s president, the collaboration is a response to institutional needs for services linking customer products with the organization’s financial activities.Robinhood Crypto and International executive Johann Kerbrat also described RLUSD settlement as one component of a broader relationship that includes treasury management and financing.

The companies have not described the agreement as a replacement for other stablecoins. Instead, the announcement outlines how RLUSD will be incorporated into Robinhood’s existing digital asset and institutional services.

Ripple Treasury to Support Robinhood’s Financial Operations

The partnership also includes an integration of Ripple Treasury, which Robinhood will use to modernize and automate parts of its global treasury operations. Some of the functions carried out by treasury management include cash management, cash flow forecasting, payments, and risk management.

Treasury Management is the management of an organization’s cash flows and financial commitments By integrating Ripple Treasury, Robinhood intends to apply the software across these operational activities, extending the relationship beyond digital asset trading and settlement.

The announcement does not provide a deployment schedule, financial terms or quantified savings associated with the treasury integration. It also does not specify how much of Robinhood’s existing treasury activity will move to the system.

The integration nevertheless represents a distinct part of the agreement. While RLUSD supports the stablecoin and settlement component, Ripple Treasury addresses Robinhood’s internal financial processes. The two services therefore serve different functions within the partnership.

Ripple Prime Extends Institutional Financing and Trading

Ripple Prime will provide another connection between the companies through financing and market access. The service already provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across approximately 20 digital assets.

Ripple Prime clients can also access spot trading on Bitstamp. Later in 2026, Ripple Prime is expected to support perpetual futures trading on the exchange, according to the announcement.

These arrangements build on an existing relationship involving financing, liquidity and market access. The planned perpetual futures support would add another trading service to the relationship, although the announcement does not provide a specific launch date.

Bitstamp by Robinhood is essential for this aspect of the partnership because it links Robinhood’s exchange services with the Ripple Prime institutional solutions. The collaboration, accordingly, relates stablecoin settlement to financing and trading infrastructure while not considering these two as one.

RLUSD’s Growth Brings the Stablecoin Industry into Perspective

The partnership takes place against the backdrop of the stablecoin market reaching more than $300 billion in total market supply as per the numbers provided in the press release. RLUSD’s market cap now stands at above $2.5 billion following its launch in December 2024.

Robinhood reported 28.6 million funded customers globally in its August 2026 operating data. The business also includes institutional transactions via Bitstamp, which enables the partnership to tap into both the consumer and institutional streams.
