Evernorth Unveils Institutional Partners for Its 473 Million XRP Treasury

Evernorth unveils institutional partners for its 473 million XRP treasury

KEY INSIGHTS

  • Evernorth XRP Treasury will be leveraging Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase, and BitGo in the distribution of 473 million XRP tokens in Q4 2026.
  • Evernorth will be generating profits through institutional treasury management activities.
  • Evernorth plans to expand into XRP Ledger lending and DeFi as native credit markets become operational.

Evernorth Holdings has appointed Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase, and BitGo as its first institutional partners for executing the plan to distribute its 473 million treasury of XRP starting from Q4 2026. The program was launched on October 14 and represents a new strategy to manage the holdings of digital assets of the Nasdaq-traded company and create income.

The treasury is valued at approximately $648 million at current prices, according to reporting by The Block. Evernorth has not disclosed how much XRP it intends to allocate to the initial strategies or specified the returns it expects to generate. Its plans also include a later expansion into lending and decentralized finance (DeFi) on the XRP Ledger as the network’s financial infrastructure develops.

Evernorth XRP Treasury Moves Beyond Accumulation

The company’s first phase will rely on institutional counterparties and strategies that are available today. Evernorth says the selected partners offer institutional infrastructure, licensing, capitalization and experience working with public companies and asset managers.

Founder and CEO Asheesh Birla said the company intends to use its treasury rather than simply hold the assets. The initial arrangement will allow Evernorth to begin its deployment program through established counterparties while its investment and risk team oversees the process.

The company also aims to increase the amount of XRP held per share over time. That objective differs from a strategy centered exclusively on purchasing and retaining more tokens, as Evernorth intends to generate earnings through its treasury operations.

Evernorth said the partnerships remain subject to customary closing conditions and any required regulatory and corporate approvals. This means the announced arrangements are not presented as unconditional agreements that have already completed every necessary step.

XRP Ledger Lending Is Planned for a Later Phase

Evernorth’s longer-term strategy depends partly on the development of lending and onchain credit capabilities on the XRP Ledger. The company plans to expand beyond institutional strategies as native credit markets become available and demonstrate their operation in production.

Under that approach, Evernorth intends to allocate treasury capital directly to onchain markets. The company has described this as a phased expansion rather than an immediate move to deploy its entire treasury through decentralized finance protocols.

Birla said Evernorth wants to participate when the ledger’s credit markets become operational. His quote provides details on the future direction of the firm but does not set a timeline for launching the lending products or the readiness of the target markets to allocate their treasuries.

However, the proposed expansion will also entail risks that are different from having XRP under custody. Lending strategies have exposure to borrowers and the risk of nonpayment while DeFi strategies can expose funds to smart contract vulnerabilities.

Evernorth has not provided any risk limits or returns that may be associated with such activities in the future. The announcement made by the company states that the investment and risk team will be responsible for overseeing the institutional phase and making further decisions to go onchain.

Hugo Jeandesboz Will Oversee Treasury Deployment

Chief Investment Officer Hugo Jeandesboz is responsible for overseeing the deployment program. Evernorth appointed him to the position on September 28, 2026, before announcing the four institutional partners.

Previously, Jeandesboz was the co-head of investments for Coinbase Asset Management, in which he was leading the firm’s solutions investment strategies. His experience also includes over a decade of experience in trading and portfolio management in both digital assets and fixed income, where his past employers include HSBC and Société Générale.

According to Jeandesboz, this strategy needs a well-defined treasury strategy, risk framework, and counterparties meeting the requirements of a public company. He also said those controls would guide the company’s decisions as the XRP Ledger develops.

His appointment places investment oversight at the center of Evernorth’s plan to deploy its holdings. The company has identified institutional controls, reporting and counterparty standards as part of the foundation for managing XRP and pursuing earnings.

Nasdaq Listing Puts Treasury Strategy in Focus

Evernorth entered the public markets following its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II. The company trades on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPN and announced the new institutional partnerships shortly after its debut.

The timing makes execution a central part of the next phase. Evernorth has outlined its intended strategy, but the initial allocation size, realized earnings and performance of any future lending or DeFi positions remain undisclosed.
